I use a Husqvarna Viking embrodiery machine. The thing I like most about it is it is a good sturdy machine, I have used it for so long I can make it do anything I can imagine with sewing. I go in to my sewing room before I have my coffee and get my daily project up and running. It’s a win win if you can get our maching up and running before your brain is in gear.

My favorite sewing tip is to get large metal washers, put 2 together and wrap with ribbon and hot glue the ribbon in place. I use these instead of pins to hold my patterns in place on the fabric to cut them out. This way I don’t drop any pins or get stuck from them.

My favourite tip is to keep a bottle of Fray Stop handy for use on fabric which fray at the edges. This helps to stop material pulling apart at the seams but use it very sparingly so that it doesn’t bleed through too much of the fabric. It is a must when using silk.

I’d love to see Pixie Faire offer career oriented and appropriate accessories for 18" doll types as we have a variety of 18" dolls. Career oriented as in Scientists, Racing Driver, Airline Pilot/Stewardess, Firefighter/EMS, Surgeon, OR Techs and more I’m sure. While many members are very talented and can adapt patterns, there are also so many new members just learning to sew who may not be able to adapt. And the young gals who select patterns may not be able to visualize how to make this happen. Thank you for the 12 days of Christmas.

My favourite tradition is making Vinetarterta with my Icelandic friend. For over 18 years my friend and I would get together and make this wonderful Christmas cake. My favorite holiday traditions are… thinking of others FIRST.
Baking a “Happy Birthday Jesus” cake to wish the Savior a happy birthday.
Find someone or someone(s) who are alone and try to brighten their holiday with a handmade gift and/or meal.
Praying for those that are forgotten.
Praying for others who are hurting or having problems that seem to hurt more during the holidays.
Praying that those who’ve gone on are remembered with flowers or wreaths.
Remembering that our LORD isn’t limited to Christmas and Easter. He is reborn and risen in our hearts and lives every day, every time we serve as his hands, his feet, his heart.
Happy New Year to all! :)

My favorite Holiday tradition started when I was but a wee child. Because we wanted to spend Christmas Eve with one set of Grandparents and Christmas Day with the other, on Christmas Eve we would drive around and look at Christmas lights while “Santa” came and brought presents. Then, the next day we would go to the other Grandparents house for even more
“Santa” gifts. The place we drove to was a place called Sleepy Hollow and for 1 entire block every house was lit up to the extreme…even arbors that went from one side of the street over the cars to the other side of the street. The line of cars was long as we slowly went through the block. It was magical! I will never forget it.

My favorite holiday tradition is Christmas celebration with the grandchildren. I love to see the wonder of the season through their eyes. Their ages are quite varied at 10, 5, 2, and 7 months. This year it was the 5 year old who just could hardly wait any longer for it to come. We celebrated on Christmas Eve which was unusual, but Daddy works at a church and their church had decided not to have an abbreviated Sunday. They had the entire usual Sunday lineup with Sunday School and all 3 services. This meant that Daddy had to leave early and would not be home again until mid-afternoon. By our celebrating Christmas Eve the 5 year old was able to be “put out of the misery” of waiting another day. Seeing the wonder of Christmas through each different ages eyes is magical. And of course a baby’s first Christmas is so special.

My favorite Holiday tradition is something I picked up from my inlaws- when we give people presents, we don’t just put who they are “from” on the package; we think of something (fictional character, celebrity, etc) for it to be from that is related to the present. They also engage in trying to figure out what’s in the present, but I like the surprise more so I don’t do that :D
