Freebie Friday Help Us Spread The Word

Hi everyone,

On Friday (January 9th, 2015) we'll a special pattern available as our Freebie Friday Pattern. So, this week there is no voting - just a "heads-up" that a nice pattern is coming your way on Friday - free for one day only.

This week we're featuring the work of Shari Fuller from Thimbles and Acorns.

More About Shari Fuller and Thimbes And Acorns, (in her own words). The name “Thimbles and Acorns” comes from the story of “Peter Pan” and has has an affectionate personal meaning to me.  When my daughter was three-years-old, she fell in love with the story and its main character. Her favorite activity was to “be” Peter, and we happily indulged her fantasy world with books, costumes, and other props.

January 4, 2015 marked the 3rd anniversary of Thimbles and Acorns patterns.  It has been a wonderful three years, and I am so grateful for each and every one of you that have encouraged, inspired, and supported me.  As a special thank you, we are offering our brand new "Carrie" pattern, the companion to the "Mary and Laura"pattern which we offered for our first anniversary.  This dress is a reproduction of the one worn by Carrie Ingalls in a picture of her, Mary, and Laura taken in 1880, the year of "The Long Winter".   Thank you again, I am looking forward to our next year together!

Here is more information about the pattern:

Born in 1867, Laura Ingalls Wilder had the privilege of witnessing a whole period of American history; the frontier, the woods, the Indian country of the great plains, the frontier towns, the building of railroads in wild, unsettled country, homesteading and farmers coming in to take possession. Later in her life, she began recording these memories in her classic “Little House on the Prairie” books, preserving a first hand account of those significant years in American History.

The “Carrie” dress is a reproduction of the dress worn by Carrie Ingalls in a picture taken around 1880, the year recorded so vividly in her book “The Long Winter”. Now your 18" doll can dress as Carrie in this replica of the Ingalls' dress' by Thimbles and Acorns This PDF pattern includes instructions for a double breasted overdress and underskirt trimmed with bias cut fabric.

“The Little House” books were favorites of our daughters. I think they will be for our grand-daughters too, and they can “act out” some of the stories with their dolls dressed in character. Thank you, and congratulations on your 3 year business birthday! Much success in the future.
