Freebie Friday, (January 16, 2015), Help Us Decide

Hi everyone,

This week we are celebrating the 50th pattern published by Liese Brouwer of Doll Tag Clothing. Her new Slumberland pattern is designed to fit the Disney Animator doll. On Friday (January 16th, 2015) we'll have a pattern available from her collection for free Vote now and help us decide which pattern should be free.

More About Liese & Doll Tag Clothing: We'll let Liese share her story with us in her own words...

I am a mother of 3 living in South Africa, 2 boys and a girl. I come from a sewing family and started at a very young age. I remember sitting with my mom and cutting out her patterns for her while she sewed the most beautiful wedding dresses. My favourite baby doll clothes I own were made by my gran... she added the most beautiful detail with lace and bullion roses to every item she made. My mom and I still work together as digitizers for embroidery machines.

I fell in love with American Girl while travelling in the United States and couldn't wait to start sewing for her. When my daughter was born the fun began! I published my first pattern 3 years ago at PixieFaire and the journey has been a blessing in so many ways! I love being able to create for the dolls and then share it with others to enjoy. With every pattern I have grown and learnt a little bit more.

I am also the proud owner of a small doll line called South African Girl Doll. I believe that every girl should have a doll of her own that she can love and dress as often as she pleases. This is a girl's dream world. Letting Girls be Girls.

Congratulations, Liese ! Your 50th pattern – what an amazing achievement ! And it’s so generous of you to celebrate by giving us four from which to choose. Even though ‘Summer Breeze’ has long been in my wish list, I’d be thrilled to have any of them in my stash. And I’m looking forward to pattern #51. then #52, and…

Congrats, Liese, on your monumental achievement of publishing 50 patterns — WOO-HOO! I really love your sporty shorts and have made a few, as well as 3 other patterns I still need to sew. Voted for the Summer Breeze top because I have the Carousel Dress/Corset vest already. All patterns offered are cute & I’ll have to have the ties for my boy doll one day, I’m sure. Thank you so much for whatever pattern wins and keep publishing your great designs!

Hi Liese, I truely enjoyed your story and how you got started. I too fell in love with American Girl. I have four Granddaughters and each one is now learning how to sew for 18" dolls through Pixie Faire and Liberty Jane patterns. They have so much to offer young ladies growing up and Grandmas too. Good luck with your South African Girl Doll Line.
How cool is that!

Congrats….way to go! I voted for the skirt….was a little scared of the intermediate rating of the top, but liked them all. I agree with you that every girl should have a doll. I try to make that happen by fixing up and passing along dolls from thrift shops etc to those less fortunate and these free patterns help me make a new wardrobe for the dolls before they go to their new homes.
