Here's What You Do: Just leave a comment as a response to this post and answer the question, "I want to learn couture techniques so I can _______________".

The Prize: We will pick one commenter and they'll get the course for free!

Details & Rules: Contest ends Monday March 30th, 2015 at 12:00 AM (Pacific). Official Rules: No purchase necessary, void where prohibited, contest is open to all states and countries where it is legally permitted.

If you haven't seen our promo video for The Couture Sewing Academy - check it out. We'd love to have you join in the program.

I would love to learn couture techniques so I can teach my granddaughter. My grandmother passed away before she finished teaching me, she was amazing. My granddaughter is already on her way to be a great designer and sewer, she does have the best dressed dolls, ready to take it up a notch. It would mean more time spent with her, couldn’t ask for more.

I would like to learn couture sewing techniques to bring my sewing to a whole new level. I’ve invested in many how-to books, inspected and deconstructed ready-made clothing, and checked out what few books on the subject I could find at the library. I’m so ready to participate in a course that will help me to overcome my anxiety, better myself and become a more proficient seamstress.

“I want to learn couture techniques so I can continue sewing and getting better. I love putting a smile on someone’s face. And my sewing does that either for my grand kids and their dolls, or charity sewing or anyone that would like what I sew. It’s a great hobby and you can do so much with it. Thank you for the contest

I want to learn couture techniques so that I can translate pictures of garment designs into perfectly fitted garments with that extra touch of class that turns a good design into an extra-ordinary garment. This is something I have wanted to do for a long time, but with our exchange rate presently at R12 to $1, I couldn’t afford to purchase.

Then I can make items for charity and my circle of pageant peeps who rely on their adopted Grama to fix and alter their dresses. I want to learn couture sewing techniques because most of the sewing instructions and tutorials for dolls only involve simple techniques. I never am satisfied with this and I often try to modify it to make it look better. Doing this makes creating the garment more time consuming. By learning these techniques I can learn to do this with more ease and hopefully start a business with unique, high quality products to offer.

I want to learn couture techniques to up my game. I taught my self to sew out of necessity in middle school. Growing up we would rummage the after hour donations that were dropped off behind our local thrift store, sadly even the thrift store prices were too much for us, and the free store that was in a basment of a church on Fridays and Saturdays. Needless to say as a middle schooler I wanted to keep those secrets hiden so I started to “redo” the clothes we were able to get and/or resue the fabric they were made of. Most of my sewing was done by hand until a friend of my Mom’s gifted me her old sewing machine my freshmen year of highschool. Given the circumstances that I learned under always struggled with the details. I know that learning these techniques will bring my sewing to the next level.

I love learning couture techniques. I have taken some classes on another website and came to realize that some techniques my mother taught me were couture, and handed down from her mother. The techniques remind me of a custom suit that a host family had made for me when I stayed in South Korea many years ago. They thought that American clothes were cheaply made, even though many of my clothes came from a fine department store in Seattle. I would love to learn how to make a suit that meets their high standards.

I would like to learn couture techniques so I can make more complicated AG doll clothes and get an online business started. Years ago, I made some dresses for myself using Vogue patterns. I learned there was so much more involved with those patterns than just sewing seams, hems, and putting in zippers. The clothes made with couture techniques are so beautiful. I am having so much fun making clothes for my granddaughter using your patterns. Thank you for all the freebies and for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us.
