Freebie Friday (Jan 15, 2016) Help Us Decide

Hi everyone,

[Update, voting is now closed and the Rash Guard and Swim Shorts won the voting]

On Friday (January 15th, 2016), we'll have one of the following patterns available for free from Cinnamon Miles. It's our gift to you. Vote now and then come back to Pixie Faire on Friday to download your free copy and while you're here be sure to pick a new pattern or two, get some fabric, or join a class.

More About Cinnamon and Liberty Jane Clothing: Cinnamon is the co-founder of Liberty Jane Clothing and Pixie Faire. She's also the co-founder of Sew Powerful, a charity focused on combating extreme poverty through sewing and tailoring programs. She strives to design on-trend clothing made to fit 18 inch dolls such as American Girl® and other doll types too. Help us decide which one of these fun patterns should be free by voting below.

More About Each Pattern:

The Sorrento Top For 18 Inch Dolls: This popular top from the Liberty Jane Spring 2011 International Collection has been revised for 2014 to include the By The Boardwalk variation! We've added 8 pages of new instruction to include two complete variations. The 5 strand braid instructions with full color steps are included as well! The Sorrento Top is designed to fit an 18 inch American Girl ® Doll! This design is easy to sew and works with a variety of trims! Have a hard time finding trims? The braid variation can be made without any trims, simply use strips of scrap fabrics to create a unique look. Tips included for sewing with knit fabric which will help prevent stretching and produce evenly stitched hems! Suggested fabrics include: lightweight knit (rayon spandex), rayon, and silky blends

The Rash Guard And Swim Shorts For 18 Inch Dolls: The Liberty Jane rash guard and swim short PDF pattern is perfect for any 18 inch doll that is ready for some warm weather fun! Create surf style for your doll! Pattern includes the full outfit - both the top and the boy cut shorts. Fabrics used are two way stretch lycra spandex. You can make a lot of different color combination’s. The shorts also work great for dance shorts!

The V-Neck Tee For 18 Inch Dolls: A v-neck tee is a great addition to any doll’s wardrobe! Liberty Jane is excited to offer you this PDF sewing pattern to teach you how to do this “lapped v” technique. This is a perfect project for using upcycled t-shirts that you might have lying around. There are 11 pages of full color step by step instruction as well as 1 page of text only summary of  instructions to save on printer ink! These full color easy to follow instructions walk you through each step in completing your American Girl ® dolls new v neck shirt.

The Off-The-Shoulder Tee For 18 Inch Dolls: The Liberty Jane Off the Shoulder Tee 18 inch Doll Clothes PDF Pattern. This top was featured in the 2011 Fall Collection. This top is easy to make and sewing with knit fabrics in this design is not complicated at all!  It is designed to hang loose and be layered over a tank top.

Take a look at each pattern:

We'd love to hear your opinion - which one of these fun patterns should be free? Leave a comment below with your opinion!

Already have all of these from past Freebie Fridays, and they’re all great. If you’re looking for an idea to keep FF fresh and exciting for both new and long-time customers, how about doing a special theme week every month? With movie award season now upon us, a choice of evening gowns for Oscar night would be fun! You could also do theme weeks with historical patterns, a tropical/beach theme (perfect for the new GOTY Lea!), school uniforms and costumes for Halloween in the fall, etc. Please consider it! :)

I am not going to vote this week due to the duplication of your patterns. It seems like we have seen these patterns several times. It would be nice to see something fresh and different. How about a Period clothing pattern? Susan B. Anthony, or Medievil or Regency? That would be nice.

I have all but the Rash Guard Surfer pattern so I voted for that one. Still, these are all great patterns, versatile and easy to put together – Again, thanks!
