A four-stranded braid travels down the front of this trendy turtleneck sweater, which can be created with long or short sleeves. It can also be lengthened into a tunic or a sweater dress to expand your wardrobe opportunities. Instructions are also included to make a matching hat or headband.
This PDF knitting pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.
-lightweight fingering yarn--I used "Palette", available from Knitpicks.com, which has 231 yards in a 50 g ball. 1 skein is enough for a sweater and hat, but more should be allowed for a dress and hat combination.
-knitting needles in US sizes 0 & 1 (2 & 2.25 mm)
-4 place markers
-Snaps & matching thread for finishing

I thought this pattern would be a fair one for cables. I was wrong and had so many problems, I had an experienced knitter help me and found out the stitch count is wrong at the beginning of the cable and the pattern would give me nothing but problems due to how it's written. I did ask the designer for help and was told my problem was increases. I know how to increase and informed her of this and that the stitch count wasn't adding up. I asked her to contact me after the Thanksgiving break but did not hear from her again. I will avoid any patterns from this designer no matter how cute it looks.
I've just about finished yet another one of Becky Colvin's sweater pattern and I can honestly say it knits up great and the instructions are easy to follow. I prefer to use the Conversational Style pattern instructions she provided along side with the Line by Line instructions also provided by her in order to check-off as I go and read-up what's coming next. Another beautiful sweater to add to Abilyne and Saige Fall wardrobe.
I've been knitting like the wind ever since this pattern came out and I am nearly finished with my first sweater. The pattern is easy to follow and good for those who are decent at knitting. If you can knit and purl, don't be intimidated by the cables! You can finish the sweater with 0 and 1 size needles, but I recommend two sets of size 1 needles for the sleeves (and the 0 for the ribbing). Overall, a fun and simple project.
