I sew to stay sane. My Nursing job is stressful. My motto for years has been: If I cut fabric wrong, nobody dies. Hmmmm. I have been sewing since I was 7. I have always used it as a retreat.
Never having the variety of doll clothes as a child, I am like the kid in the candy store. I love these patterns and give most of my creations away.
Thanks Cinnamon and all the Pixie Faire people

I recently joined this site about a month ago at so and have enjoyed the patterns very much. I really don’t know what you could do to make the site better, it’s pretty great as is! My daughter and I collect many types of dolls and she’s had the less expensive ones but I finally got her kanani for Christmas and she loves her, I also got myself an old Josephina off ebay and she’s my first real ag doll to. It’s been fun sewing for them.

I sew primarily for friends, fun, and to make/adapt things for my husband’s medical needs. I like to make doll clothes both for the creativity and for how quickly the smaller pieces work up. I only get to sew in little snatches of time, maybe totaling two to three hours a week as my husband’s needs allow.

I sew as a hobby and now that I am retired I plan to take advantage of the this increased time. I end up doing a lot more mending than I would like, but plan to organize my fun “to do” projects this year and see how that works. In addition to the crochet I do for church causes, I am looking for more projects for my Clementine (a Girl for all Time).

I sew and crochet as hobbies. I’ve sewn for many years, starting as a young girl sewing clothes for my dolls. I’m once again starting to sew doll clothes but am sewing doll clothes for me grand-daughters’s dolls. I want to get a doll for me so I can sew more elaborate clothing for my own doll. I work full-time, have a few acres with animals, and am a single mom. I wish I had more time to sew. It would be helpful to have all the supplies I need on hand so when I have a few minutes, I can really accomplish something.

I used to sew primarily for my hobby (20-40 hrs. week) which turned into a fun business creating and selling 18” doll dresses and has helped me fund my college education. I now have a job which gives me less time sewing doll outfits. I still sew and sell on Etsy but now I can only squeeze 10-15 hrs. a week. Sacrifices we have to make!

I sew and crochet primarily as a hobby. I love to create and do the doll clothes for my granddaughter. Years ago I made and sold assorted dolls and doll clothes, and keep thinking I may do it again some day. But, for right now, my pleasure is in seeing my granddaughter’s little face light up when I show her something new I’ve made. Of course, it is then added to her collection. :)

I sew & embroider mostly to help brighten someone’s day. I teamed up with the local Moose Lodge & make items for their terminally ill vets at the Chillicothe, OH Vets hospital. I’m going to check into seeing what I can do for the local Children’s Hospital kids. In addition, I’ve also sewed/embroidered stuff for cancer patients. If I can make someone that is down on their luck’s day; I go out of my way to do what I can; even if it’s just for a brief moment of time. I spend about 10 hours or so & using some of PixieFaire’s patterns helps me to brighten their day. Currently, a gal’s daughter was born with down syndrome probably due to her mother’s 10 yr. heroin addiction. So I’ve been busy making her doll clothes so that she would have a nice Christmas. I wish I could do more, but with Fibromyalgia & neuropathy; it does weigh me down a lot as I’m in chronic pain; but I still fight my illness to do all I can for others.

“I sew primarily as a hobby. On average, I spend too few hours a week either sewing doll clothes and/or sewing quilts and simple household items. Although I have a sewing room with supplies, it seems that I am always lacking in some necessary item needed to complete a project that I’m working on (and I live too far away to just “jump in the car” and buy whatever it is that I need - so I have to wait until I am able to travel 30 miles before I can buy whatever item I need).

I sew primarily as an impassioned hobby.
With a vehement gesture to my everyday parents of friends with girls my daughters age that want their girls to have beautiful doll clothes for their little girls to choose from and can’t pay $30-$50 an outfit at an American Girl store (Such special outfits should be in the wardrobe but would be hard to fill a wardrobe with)
I sew anywhere from 30-40 hours a week to absorb the joy on their beautiful little faces every time I give them a special one of a kind hand made outfit for their beloved little families of dolls! Every Girl deserves this rite of passage through girlhood!
Thank you for these generous chances!!

I used to sew clothes for myself, my husband, and our son. Since Petites hit the stores years ago, I don’t sew clothes much any more. It’s easier just to hem. I piece quilts on the machine and sometimes quilt them on the machine. I just have a bout a dozen that need to be quilted. I sew doll clothes for my youngest granddaughter and plan to make more for my Etsy store. There are weeks when I don’t sew at all. But,when I’m sewing something for my quilt club I may sew 4-6 hours a day. We do what we call an inedible buffet at our club Christmas party. This year I made 21 machine embroidered and quilted mug rugs for that. I just sew as a hobby most of the time now.
