Lollipop Garden Dress 18" Doll Clothes

3   |

Retro is in fashion! The Lollipop Garden Dress is a vintage replica of a later mid-century three-piece dress and play ensemble. The basic shapes are classic and timeless--make them with the mid-century rickrack-and-button detailing for an authentic historical reproduction, or throw a modern twist to the pattern by eliminating the decorative detail and adding a tie to the skirt. As an added bonus, an easy pattern for a petticoat with a crunchy tulle hem is also included for an authentic blast to the past. No matter how you interpret the design, your doll will be in style!

This is a user-friendly pattern. The step-by-step directions have been photographed and written comprehensively with many explanatory details for newer seamstresses. An experienced seamstress will probably be able to sew this dress just by reading the written instructions located at the back of the pattern. Happy sewing!

This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.

Lollipop Garden Dress

This pattern is fun to make. The top has decorative buttons on the shoulders, the skirt is mock wrap, and the petticoat gives it flare! I can't wait to make more of these! P.S. following the primary instructions makes hemming the rounded edges a lot easier than trying to fold as you sew. If you don't want to baste, use pins. Lots of pins. That made it 100% easier for me (this coming from the girl who hates hemming round edges).

Wonderful!!!

I had the privilege of testing this pattern. The instructions were very easy to understand and the pieces went together perfectly. The fit on the 18" doll is amazing. Cute for spring.
