School Nativity 18" Doll Clothes

14 reviews   |

The School Nativity pattern, by Genniewren Designs, contains 18 pattern pages giving you everything you need to make all the costumes for your School Nativity play.

The PDF sewing pattern includes pattern pieces for three robe styles (which can be made in 2 different lengths), a baby doll, sandals, angel wings, a collar, a cloak, a jerkin, and a selection of crowns, hats and headdresses. That’s 20 pattern pieces in all, plus it includes full measurements for the rectangles used for different styles of headdress, swaddling bands, hoods, drapes, and other pieces that you may wish to add to the basic costumes.

All three gown styles fasten down the center back with snaps or hook and loop tape. The gown pattern can also be used back to front to make front-fastening robes if preferred. The simple sandal pattern is made of three layers, a felt sole, a suede, leather or vinyl middle layer with tabs and holes for lacing, and a felt inner sole.

What gives this pattern even more value is that many of the pieces in the pattern can be used for other projects too; whether that's Bible story pageants and plays, wizards and witches, pantomimes, character costumes from fairy tales and nursery rhymes, or as a general basis for Halloween costumes. All you need to bring to the sewing table is a fabric and trim stash, your 18" doll(s) and your imagination!

Recommended Fabrics:  This pattern is designed mainly for woven fabrics such as cotton lawn, poplin, quilters cottons, broadcloth, chambray, lightweight denim, cotton drill or linen/cotton blends. However, knit fabrics can be used instead for most of the clothing if preferred. You will need beige or flesh colored knit fabric for the baby doll if you don’t plan on using a small doll for the Baby Jesus.
