Made this for a church auction. There could be more information about the underarm and leaving a hole there but maybe it is there and I didn’t read it thoroughly. It makes it so the sleeve doesn’t pull. Also I think the obi looks best tucked in and not just folded over but those are easy fixes and it may be because I don’t really know how it is supposed to look. If you are looking to make a Japanese kimono—this is the pattern!
Super cute. Granddaughters love the outfit
have not quite finished one yet and will send picture soon . the pattern was just what I wanted thank you
This pattern is very easy to follow and sew...all straight seams. I did have a bit of an issue when I cut the nicks for the sleeves ( my fault I cut at the wrong place so be careful ). But it still went together nicely and looks stunning on my doll. I used quilting cotton in an all over pale green print. I had a ribbon the correct width and did not make the obi. I do plan to do so, and make the Gita as well. I want to get a lovely silk brocade to make a dress kimono next!
