Your 18-inch friend will be feeling at least "a lil' bit country" with this ruffled pull-on dress featuring several variations.
Create the full dress in two different lengths, with or without a ruffle at the hem. Or if you prefer, stitch up separates. Included are two options for the top - one with a built-in elasticized ruffled waist and another slightly longer version with a straight hem, intended to be tucked in or belted. Other options include the simple pull-on skirt, which can be made with or without the ruffled hem.
Thanks to an elasticized waist and generous cut, dressing your doll is very easy ... no closures needed! This set also includes two different belt patterns to accessorize your outfit - the Fabric Buckled Belt, which can be made with fabric or ribbon, and the Leather Snapped Belt, which conveniently snaps in the back.
Depending upon the variations chosen, this PDF pattern goes together quickly and is suitable for confident beginner to intermediate-level sewists.
For even more versatility, this pattern was designed to complement the Ruffled Romper pattern, also by Matilda's Closet. Combine your favorite skirt option from this pattern with the halter-style top from that pattern to create a sweet ruffled sundress! Or switch things around and use the pants pieces from that pattern with the ruffled top from this one for yet another fun summer look. You can even create a cute halter top with a ruffled waist!
Recommended Fabrics: cotton, chambray, gingham, lightweight denim
-1/2 yard woven fabric (cotton, chambray, gingham, lightweight denim - best results obtained from fabrics which hold a crease well when ironed)
-1/4-inch wide elastic, as follows:
DRESS: 19 inches
SHIRT-RUFFLED HEM: 19 inches
SHIRT-STRAIGHT HEM: 10 inches
SKIRT: 10 inches
FABRIC BUCKLED BELT:
-Scrap woven fabric (cotton, denim)
-Buckle to fit 1/2-inch belt
LEATHER SNAPPED BELT:
-Leather or vinyl scraps - enough to cut a 13x3/8-inch strip
-Buckle to fit 3/8-inch belt
-One snap set - 3/8-inch diameter or smaller (I prefer the metal Fashion Spring #14 snaps from KAMsnaps)
-Snap setting tools (I prefer the DK93 Wide-Clearance KAM Snap Press with die set for metal snaps)

It was the blouse option I fell for … I have so many dress patterns, but not so many cute tops for matching up with summer shorts. I’ve made several of these already, and will probably make the dress at some point. This is a perfect top for a younger child, as it easily pulls on without Velcro or snaps, and yet the fit is perfect. Another great pattern from Matilda’s Closet … one of my favorites!
The instructions were easy to follow and made sense. This is easy to make fancy or casual, depending on the fabric you use. I couldn't stop at just one dress... I made four! I have to stop myself and move on to another pattern. :)
Very easy instructions to follow. I made a pink gingham checked dress and a floral top with ruffle and elasticated waist. They are such a good fit, will make more
Like it smiple to do made several thanks for the free patterns
