Travel back in time with this darling 1920s style Nautical Dress, by Keepers Dolly Duds. The dress features a loose fitting dropped waist bodice, knee length box pleated skirt, and elbow length sleeves. An underbodice with a close fitting stand up collar adds a bit of dimension and matching bias trim along the edges of the sailor collar and bodice front outline the asymmetrical faux front closure. The dress opens all the way in back for easy dressing and is fastened with five working buttons; hook and loop tape or snaps can be used, if preferred. For added interest, the skirting and sleeves are hemmed with decorative stitching, the sleeves are embellished with dainty fabric bows, and two decorative buttons secure the faux front closure. A smart looking tie at the base of the collar finishes the outfit like an exclamation point.

Another wonderful pattern from Keepers! Sewed up beautifully, I did not use a clapper on the pleats, so they aren’t as crisp as they should be. My granddaughter should love this. The triple stitch top stitching adds a lot to the design!
I think it's a testament to the quality of Keepers' patterns that you can make a dress at home which looks just like the beautiful garments she makes. Great instructions and fit make this dress another heirloom for your doll. Here's a tip for pleats - Mix 1/4 cup white vinegar and 3/4 cup water in a spray bottle. Spray your pleats, and use a wood clapper with your iron to get long lasting pleats. I used Middy Braid and mini-piping for my trim. Classic!
