Hooded Bathrobe 18" Doll Clothes

5 reviews   |

Create a cute and comfy hooded bathrobe for your 18-inch doll. Perfect for getting cozy and relaxed after a busy day. Also makes an easy beach cover-up after a nice swim!

This PDF download includes pattern pieces and step-by-step photo instructions for creating a hooded bathrobe with an exposed front zipper and optional hidden side pockets.

Designed with the confident beginner in mind, this pattern will walk you through an easy zipper installation with plenty of photos to guide the process. You'll also have a chance to use one of your sewing machine's "fancy" stitches - the double overlock stitch - with the option of substituting a standard zigzag if your machine doesn't have that capability or you prefer something more basic.

Cute Bathrobe but Arms a Little Tight

I would recommend following the illustrations for the pattern to see how the zipper is sewn in. I have sewn for many years and never cut off the top of the zipper as this pattern calls for. The pictures, however, make it easy to follow. I made this out of fleece but the sleeves are narrow making it difficult to put on, especially for a child. I would recommend using a soft knit like the one used in the instructions. I really like that the hood was big enough to stuff the doll's hair in which made the whole robe fit better.
