I would recommend following the illustrations for the pattern to see how the zipper is sewn in. I have sewn for many years and never cut off the top of the zipper as this pattern calls for. The pictures, however, make it easy to follow. I made this out of fleece but the sleeves are narrow making it difficult to put on, especially for a child. I would recommend using a soft knit like the one used in the instructions. I really like that the hood was big enough to stuff the doll's hair in which made the whole robe fit better.
Very easy pattern and quick sew. Love the pockets. Definitely will be making more.
I had the pleasure of testing this great pattern. It was very easy and quick to sew up. The finished robe looks very warm and cozy.
