If you see a girl that looks as though she is a fairy tale forest dweller who has just stepped out of an enchanted wood, chances are good you’ve spotted a Mori Girl. Born in Japan as a subculture, Mori Girl style embodies living in the moment and living in harmony with nature.
Mori (meaning forest) Girl style is all about natural fibres and colours from nature – creams, browns, greens and autumnal oranges, reds and yellows. The style also favours a lot of layering. This dress can be used as a ‘foundation layer’ for Mori Girl style, but also works as a cute, everyday dress.
You can choose to line your dress or make it with facings. The lined version can be made as a reversible dress. Two looks in one!

I love Kelibu patterns. She is always pushing the bar on her patterns. This one has so much detail and was a joy to sew. Simple but the results are elegant. So many different ways to accessorize the dress. I use a cameo on the collar. Traci's directions are always clear and the pictures are great. I will definitely be sewing more.
Great design that can be managed in a multiplicity of ways, creating Mori Girl or simple A-line, this pattern comes with clear instructions and photos that guide you along the way. Well done!
