This is a dress design reminiscent of the early 1800's. The dress has an empire waistline, leg of mutton sleeves and a gathered skirt that falls above the ankles on an 18-inch doll. The bodice has a scoop neckline with contrast ruffle, three columns of lace down center front and is fully lined. The skirt has two rows of tucks and ribbon along the bottom edge. This dress can be made with variations that include premade lace for the neckline and sleeves, other adornments for the bodice center front of your own choosing, and/or without the ruffle along the neckline, and sleeves.

Love this dress! It was fun and easy to sew. Depending on the trims and embellishments you can use this for many different eras from Regency to modern. I made my dress more of a traditional Regency dress by pulling all the skirt gathers to the back for more of a flat front look. I also left off most of the embellishments.
Beautiful dress from a versatile pattern. It's written with instructions for the Regency period, but change the trimmings and the gathering silhouette, and you can make this dress fit centuries of fashion styles. For all of the details, this was a fairly easy sew, and the trim details make the dress really stand out. The instructions are clear. The fit is wonderful.
