THE 50’S ERA . . .ONE OF THE ALL TIME FAVORITE, NOSTOLGIC PERIODS OF MODERN DAY AMERICAN HISTORY. “Happy Days” . . . out of the 1940’s came the peaceful, prosperous, carefree, family fun times of the 50’s.
Patriotism was abundant and everyone loved a parade!
Little girls dreamed about marching and twirling ahead of the band and spent many hours of imaginative play with their majorette dolls.
Now the fun of yesteryear can be enjoyed by doll lovers again. Whether, a young girl with a vivid imagination or a discerning collector, all will love this outstanding replication of the revered 50’s drum majorette.
The PDF sewing pattern includes the dress, matching panties, hat, and boot covers, ideas for batons and go-to’s for tassels.
The dresses shown are made of lightweight Satin with Japanese Silk Lame, 100% polyester Lame or contrasting Satin for overlay on the bodice, sleeve cuff and skirt lining. Enhancing the look are several gimp trims outlining the cuff and bodice overlay. Gold shank buttons finish off the bodice overlay and matching panties in satin complete the dress.
The Hat is hard sided with a satin cover and gold trims. The brim of the hat is hard with an optional vinyl finish. Topping off the hat is a feather plumb or faux fur plumb.

Loved the look of the outfit. Did have some problems getting sleeves to fit correctly, but the final product worked out great.
The pattern markings have an error at the sleeve with the notches. The entire pattern is cut too small for an AG. There is not enough fabric left to close in back. The steam on trim is not the best idea as it was already coming off from handling when I tried to fit the outfit on the doll.
want to make soon
I lové it.
