This two piece layered dress set is just right for a special occasion in the North Woods. Wear the layers together for a dressy layered look when the temperatures are cool and for in the heat of the day, remove the overdress and enjoy a little frolic in the afternoon sunshine.
The over dress features a simple scooped neckline with an empire waist in the front that swoops to the natural waistline in the back. The sleeves are fitted 3/4" length with a wide band of ruching at the elbow. The lightly gathered skirting is separated from the bodice with bias cut waist band that hangs over the top edge of the skirting. The dress opens in the back from top to bottom for easy dressing and is secured with 5 buttons. Hook-and-loop tape can be used, if preferred. A simple V neck tank dress with a dropped waist gathered skirt completes the look of the dress set. The neckline and the skirting are intentionally designed to peek out from the dress neckline and hemline for a delightful layered look. The skirting is closed in the back and secures along the back of the bodice with 3 buttons. Hook-and-loop or snaps can be used, if preferred.

Suggested Fabrics: Under Dress, Dress, and Lining in light to medium weight woven fabrics such as quilting cotton, gingham, linen, or lawn. Not suitable for knits. Tights in light to medium weight knit fabric such as cotton or cotton blend T-shirt, jersey, interlock, or lightweight sweater. Check the stretch on the fabric to determine the correct pattern piece.
