Galactic Pilot 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

Take your dolls on a space adventure with this little Galactic Pilot suit by Koski Kreations. The 18-inch doll clothes sewing pattern features full-size pattern pieces and step by step instructions to make the following items:

  • A one-piece flight suit - Design details include flap pockets, comm pocket, sleeve tabs, ammunition pockets, elastic back waistband, flat front waistband, front zipper opening, and collar with lapped closure.
  • A flak vest - made with batting and stitch detailing to replicate the real thing! Elastic straps and buckles finish it off perfectly!
  • A chest box - made with foam sheets and grosgrain ribbon - amazing detail!
  • Accessories including a harness, a belt, a leg band with ammunition
  • A helmet - made using foam sheets, techniques and instructions clearly laid out to teach you how to work with foam, mold it and create this realistic looking helmet for your 18" doll! It's complete with a chin strap and goggle shield.

This PDF sewing and crafting pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.

Recommended Fabrics: cotton

Supplies Needed:

  • 1/2 yard cotton fabric
  • scrap pieces of cotton fabric for flak vest and leg band
  • scrap pieces of batting or fleece
  • 1/2" - 3/4" Elastic
  • 1 - 6"-7" zipper
  • Hook and Loop tape
  • Steam-A-Seam


For Helmet, chest box, arm comm, harness and belt

  • 3/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
  • 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
  • 1/2" or larger ring
  • Hook and Loop tape
  • D ring
  • Split wire hose (optional)
  • scrap piece of clear or tinted vinyl or clear plastic
  • Rubber Cement
  • Mod Podge
  • Paints
  • Utility or Craft knife
  • Cutting Mat
  • 5mm Craft Foam
  • Heat Gun or Iron for heating foam


For ammunition - WARNING: not intended for small children

  • 3/16" dowel
  • 1/2" beveled washers
  • silver paint
