It's A Habit 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

9 reviews   |

This Nun’s habit is inspired by a relatively new order of Nuns formed in the late 1990s called The Sisters of Life. It is designed to reflect their habit which is similar to other orders and can be used for these as well. Simply change the colour combinations to make a Dominican Habit (White and Black) or Servants of the Holy Spirit of Perpetual Adoration (Pink and White). There are many other Religious Sisters whose habits could be made from this pattern by leaving out the scapular or the guimpe. I found several online when I was researching for this pattern. Some are included as variations but don’t let that limit you.
The habit consists of a tunic/dress, scapular, guimpe and veil. The guimpe is sewn to the habit at the neck for ease of dressing the doll. A variation with a collar and detachable guimpe is also included. The scapular closes with hook and loop tape or snaps at the shoulder and the veil slips on over the head with elastic underneath. It can be finished with a detachable belt or a tie around the waist. It can be made with a variety of medium to lightweight woven fabrics. Included are instructions to make a veil pattern.

Complete the look with the Sweet Pea Fashion Doll-Sized Rosary pattern.
