Back in the 1960s the surfing scene was trending. A man named Dave Rochlen designed a style of swim trunks specifically for surfers, which he called, "Jams." But it wasn't long before they became popular on the sand as well as the surf, and soon a girls' version began to show up. They were affectionately called, "Jellies," and followed the basic Jams line but with ruffled legs and, of course, a top.

This pattern by Genniewren Designs, is an 18" doll-sized recreation of the Naval Commander's full dress uniform worn...
This pattern was one of the easiest patterns I've made so far, great instructions and photos too. I like it when I can learn a new technique such as on the shoulders for this top. I agree with one reviewer that it was a bit tricky so next time i make it I might try adding some length to the shoulder on the lining piece. I'm also liking the way the Velcro is attached to this top not as bulky with just a cleaner look in my opinion, One more note that doesn't have to do with the pattern at all, at times I'm tempted to cut off the tag that is sewn into my dolls waste it seems way over done in size and tricky to hide in crop top styles.
Very easy pattern to follow! One of my favorites so far!
very easy to make and turned out really cute. I did one with the ruffles and the other using rick rack instead of the ruffle.
This pattern is easy to make, and just so cute! The only part I thought was a little tricky was the shoulders, but even that was simple. The instructions, as always, are clear and easy to read, with lots of pictures to demonstrate the related instruction. When I made it, I made the ruffle a bit longer, and I left the ruffles off of the pants, and it goes from cute swimwear to a cute summer outfit.
