Amy's School Jumper 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

10 reviews   |

Step into the story of “Little Women” with this delightful Civil War Era Jumper and Blouse ensemble by  Keepers Dolly Duds. Make it up with lace trim and light colors to make a charming outfit for Amy's school days or skip the trim to make a handsome frock for the spirited Jo.

The jumper is a simple skirt gathered into a curved waistband that gently shapes the waistline. Wide straps hug the shoulders giving it a classic 1860s outline. The straps are fixed in place and the skirt fastens in the back with a single snap. Lace or other trim can be applied along the edges of the straps and waistband for a graceful appearance. The blouse features full billowing sleeves, popular in the early 1860s, that fasten at the cuff with a button and button loop. It fastens in back with three buttons, although snaps or hook and loop tape can be used if preferred. The ruffled stand-up collar and decorative stitching and buttons give this simple blouse a dash of elegance that is perfectly suited to the jumper.

Beautiful dress

Easy to follow instructions. I used this pattern along with a jacket pattern to make a dress I saw on Pinterest. Turned out better than I expected. The outfit was easy to make.

Amy's School Jumper

This is hands down my favorite doll outfit that I've made so far! I made it as a Christmas outfit for my doll and I am so pleased with how it turned out. The opportunity to use the decorative stitches on my machine was a real bonus and they really make the blouse special. I couldn't find any lace that I liked with the print, so I made tubular bias trim instead. The fit is perfect and the instructions are well written. I am looking forward to making another, more everyday, version of this outfit.

A New Favorite

I love how this dress turned out! Since the gauze crinkle that I chose for the blouse wouldn't work for machine embroidery, I substituted some lace trim. I'm really pleased with the pattern. I expect it will become a go-to!

So easy! Gorgeous result!

I don't have an embroidery machine, so I hand embroidered the embellishments on the blouse. I did use cotton homespun and I think it looks good for this pattern, but it was kind of hard to work with. When I make this again, I will use a good, sturdy cotton or cotton blend. Still I think it looks nice.

Excellent pattern

This pattern was easy to follow, the fit was perfect and the design is beautiful. I really like the directions because they are clearly pictured and described....but concisely, instead of being strung out over dozens of pages. I like to print my patterns for easy reference.
