Fashion in the 1970s was a menagerie of styles. Particularly trendy was the Bolero Vest & Gaucho Skirt. These two pieces actually began as Spanish men's clothing and were adapted for women at various times in earlier centuries. Women's liberation in the 1970s found a niche for this outfit when women were required to wear dresses or skirts to formal functions but would rather wear pants.

Very easy, good instructions, love it.
The instructions were not quite up to Pixie Faire standards. Looking at the picture, it seems like the top of the pleat was sewn down, but I missed that part in the directions if it was there. I had fun making it, but did quite a bit of trial and error. I loved the bolero vest. It was easy to make and turned out so cute!
Love this pattern. it tured out so cute. Instructions are really good. Fit is perfect.
Thus far I have only made the gaucho skirt. I wish I could post a picture. The gaucho skirt turned out beautify and really made my outfit. The pattern was a little difficult at first but then I realized that I was making it difficult -not the pattern. Be sure to mark your pattern pieces and don't try to overthink the instructions. Follow them exactly and you'll end up with the most amazing skirt. Stitch it, unfold it, and you'll be amazed. Its almost like magic. Love the tailored details and beautiful garment. I would highly recommend this pattern.
