Just like Pippa is a short name for Philippa, the Pippa skirt is a knee-length version of the Philippa Maxi Skirt.
This eight-gored skirt, by Genniewren Designs, has a choice of a fitted, invisible waistband or an elasticized waist. There are two views: View A is made up of pieced skirt gores featuring three different fabrics; View B is a single fabric skirt gore. The pattern pieces for View A and B can be mixed if desired.
This fun skirt pattern can be smart or casual, depending on the fabrics you choose. If you choose the plain option, you could make each gore in a separate fabric to make the design even more interesting.
The fitted version fits dolls with a 10.5” waist, and instructions are included for fitting the pattern to your doll if she has a smaller waist measurement. The elasticized version will fit dolls with waist measurements larger than 10.5”.
This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.

The Cables and Lace dress pattern, by Genniewren Designs, includes a dress, and a shorter version...
I made the skirt for one of my dolls, and it worked up pretty quickly. I have cut out a couple more for some of my other dolls. I actually added elastic lace and made straps on the one I completed, It is a very versatile pattern and allows so many ways to make each one unique. Since my first doll was a 50s doll, I have carried on that theme will all my dolls and the skirt is perfect for that time perid
Don't through away your bits and pieces of fabric ... make a Pippa! Clever pattern lets you be the designer. With one, two, three or a bajillion fabrics you'll have a one-of-a-kind skirt even if you make 14. The instructions are good and the photos are clear for those who need them. Experienced seamstresses can jump right to the summary. It was an honor to review and sew the skirt before publication for the designer. Purchase, print and paw through your fabrics - it'll be fun!
