Since before the Middle Ages the shirt has existed as a piece of clothing, but then only as underwear for men or as a nightgown.
In the 18th century, the shirt was no longer worn only as underwear. The collar grew into large proportions and was decorated with embroidery and lace. At the end of the World War I, the shirt went through a major transformation. It was only at that time the modern shirt with buttons all along the front became popular.

The pattern is a good, value for money, option for a straightforward shirt for slimmer dolls. Exactly what I needed and was able to adapt (lengthen body and sleeves). The photographs/illustrations are not terribly clear and I was a little lost with fitting the collar in a way which hid the raw cut edges. A good buy and will be much used.
This is a nice pattern, but I had to adapt it quite a lot to fit my Kidz n Cats doll, as the sleeves were too narrow, the armholes a bit tight and the hips a bit tight.
Воротник получается слишком массивный. Рукава посажены хорошо, вшиваются легко, в общем, все хорошо за исключением воротника.
I bought this pattern from Carpatina for my Carpatina boy doll. I love the fit of the shirt overall. Both the short and long sleeves fit perfectly. The long sleeves have the perfect amount of overlap for a snap and there is even a tiny pleat next to the cuff opening, just like on my husband's dress shirts! My only problem is that the collar is too large fir my taste. I will adjust it on my next shirt.
