Spring Bikini 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

2 reviews   |

Your doll will look fabulous when going to the beach in this gorgeous retro bikini and wrapby Little Miss Muffett. The fitted bikini is based on the extremely popular plaid and striped bikinis reminiscent of the late 1960s. The bias cut bikini top features a pretty collar, and a large bow at Center Front adds visual interest. The fitted bikini pants have cute side bows to match the bow on the bikini top. The top closes at Center Back with a snap, while the pants have a Hook & Loop ‘Zipper Finish’ closure at the side. Both the top and pants are fully lined.

The Beach Wrap, which closes at the side with a snap, features beautiful applique flowers, a long dangly fabric bow, and pretty curved front hems. This relatively easy pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.

Love This Pattern

I have a hard time grading my ability when looking at a pattern to purchase, Like many of the patterns in my hoard I've been putting off making, this cute little bikini, thinking it to challenging for me turned out not so bad. I did learn a new trick in a tip mentioned while sewing the waist that I ran into, I was skeptical thinking it wouldn't work and amazed that it turned out perfect! it was so helpful. This pattern has great instructions and many pictures I'm thinking most anyone could sew this pattern.

Cute vintage swimming outfit

The pattern is beautifully done with clear photos and easy to understand instructions. Everything comes together perfectly to recreate a vintage style bikini and wrap. The panties construction is cleverly done with the hook and loop tape at the side seam to avoid elastic at the back. Fits the newer dolls and my PC dolls well.
