"I've always loved dolls, and anything that involved color and design. My tenth birthday present from my mother was an honest-to-goodness sewing basket filled to the brim with supplies, and a Barbie pattern. I was in heaven! I sewed throughout my high school years, and then began again when my great nieces received American Girl dolls. My then teenage sons were horrified that their mother was playing with dolls!
During that time I also discovered Liberty Jane patterns. Wow – stylish, detailed patterns for dolls with fantastic instructions and a beautiful fit. Before I realized what was happening I was designing my own patterns. I now have a granddaughter who wanted to dress up like a doll I brought to her, so the joy of dolls continues in my family – both real and vinyl. The need to create has also continued. I've branched out into landscape painting and am enjoying painting on location in Southern California, which is an equal amount of challenge and joy. In summary, partnering with Pixie Faire as a seller and designer has been a fun adventure. I'm grateful to those of you who have become customers and friends along the way."

Right now I'm working on improving my painting skills.
Q: Who is your favorite doll?
My favorite dolls are the European ones because of their high quality and beautiful face sculpts. If they have more than five joints, even better.
Q: What’s your favorite flower or plant?
David Austin roses – I am besotted. I also planted some Dahlia tubers for the first time and am crossing my fingers.

Karen is one of my absolute favorite designers! Her patterns are crystal clear, well-drafted, and fit perfectly. My current fave is the Cat’s Meow Vintage Romper and Dress. I’ve made it several times, most recently for my sister TM 21s Honey (a honeybee and lavender print) and Clover (a stylized clover print).

I have several patterns from Forever 18 Inches. It’s hard to choose which one is my favorite but I think right now it is the Versatility Dress and the Aloha Vintage Swimsuit.
What a nice sundress perfect for warm Summer days. I would love to wear this myself. I also love anything denim.

Honestly I love them all, but to pick just one I guess that I would have to say the Aloha Holoku Dress because it reminds me of when I lived on the Island of Oahu and watching the Hula Contest on the tv.
