For this demonstration, you'll see a holiday gingerbread theme, but the basic concept can be used to create any type of playhouse theme you can dream up! In this series, Shari shares her childhood memories of building playhouses and forts, inspiring her to create a fitted fabric cover for a table to serve as a playhouse for her grandkids. She details the measuring process for the table, fabric requirements, and cutting instructions for the roof, walls, and trim. The tutorials aims to guide you in making a fun playhouse project for children providing hours of imaginative play!Are you ready to jump in and get started?Part 1: Materials and Size Specifications To start making the playhouse, you will need the following materials: 1. Fabric: Almost 9 yards of fabric is recommended, which includes:- About 2 yards for the roof- About 6 yards for the walls - 1 and 1/3 yards for the trim (for one door and two windows) You can use flannel, flat sheets, tablecloths, blankets, or any other fabric you have available.2. A pencil and tape measure for measuring your table and fabric. 3. Fabric marker and ruler to transfer measurements to the fabric. 4. Copy paper or tag board to make door and window templates. 5. Scissors or a rotary cutter for cutting the fabric pieces. 6. Sewing machine and thread for sewing the fabric pieces together (of course!)
