The Faux Button Jumper for 13" - 14" Dolls such as Les Cheries®, Little Darlings®, Paola Reina®, and Hearts For Hearts® is a simple pattern with detailing that looks complicated--but isn't! It looks like it has a working front placket, but looks can be deceiving. The placket is all show, and the jumper actually has only three main pattern pieces, plus cut strips for Straps and Optional Pockets. Option 1 is an Easy-level project for newer seamstresses or those who want quick results (no closures, no lining, no facing, no worries!). Option 2 is slightly more advanced, and is finished with a lining to accommodate lighter-weight fabrics. Either option can be made with or without the optional pocket(s).
The directions have been written comprehensively with many explanatory details for those who are newer to sewing. An experienced seamstress will probably be able to construct the Jumper just by reading the instructions highlighted in bold text. Happy sewing!
Special Note: This PDF pattern is designed to fit a 13 inch Corolle Les Cheries®, Little Darlings®, Paulo Reina® or 14 inch Hearts for Hearts Dolls® specifically. I have not had a chance to use them as my sewing machinme has been giving me fits and it looks like I am going to have to buy a new one. Since I have been sewing from childhood as my mom was a tailor/dressmaker, I was initiated to a sewing machine very early. Looking at the patterns I have received, I find as I look at them, they are easy to follow and anyone of at least intermediate sewing wexperience will have no problem with them. Wish me luck in finding a machine that suira me without breaking the bassnk.
The pattern is clear and concise and makes up a really cute jumper
I made this pattern for my Hearts for Hearts dolls. It went together relatively quickly, looks cute and fits well. I did make some mistakes but I probably should have read the directions more carefully. I will know better next time, because I do plan to use this to make more than one jumper.
I was able to be one of Karen's testers, but I've used the pattern multiple times since then. I love the look of the little faux button front, the way the straps snap in the back, and the way it looks with colorful pockets. Just a fun part of a cute outfit! Looks super cute with my Terrific Lil' Tees pattern, which incidentally also fits the Hearts 4 Hearts girls. :)
