Your doll will look fabulous in this beautiful dress uniform from Little Miss Muffett. ‘Highland Tattoo’ consists of a Lolita-inspired Dress designed to give the appearance of a Blouse and Skirt, a tailored Waistcoat and stylish Beret.
This ensemble blends classic European school uniform aesthetics and Military Influence with Victorian detailing.
The blouse has a Stand-Up Wing-Tip Collar together with a smart Bowtie and a Central Front Faux Button Placket. The short puffed Sleeves have contrasting corded cuffs and ruffled edges. The Blouse closes at Center Back with Hook & Loop Tape.
The layered, bell-shaped skirt combines Navy fabric, edge-trimmed in metallic gold ribbon braid, a Tartan plaid panel and white lace over a Navy Panel. The Initial Navy layer with gold trim emphasizes the Waistcoat.
The fitted Navy Waistcoat has a Fold-over Collar, Princess seams which house the Center Back Belt Ties, a gathered Peplum Skirt together with a Chevron Side Flap and decorative Satin Ribbon. The Waistcoat is edge-trimmed in metallic gold ribbon braid and closes at Center Front with Hook & Loop Tape. Two gold buttons at Center Front highlight the formal, uniform-like appearance.
The Beret is historically associated with both academic and military uniforms and anchors the look firmly to the Classic Lolita-Inspired Dress as well as highlighting the Waistcoat. The Tartan Brim Binding references the Skirt panel, while the two gold buttons echo the Waistcoat Buttons. The Beret is lined with satin and a small Ribbon Bow finishes the Center Back seam.
This Intermediate PDF sewing pattern from Little Miss Muffett is designed to fit popular 18-inch soft-bodied dolls such as those shown in the photos.
