Fun experience

My Grandaughter picked this pattern out as the one she wanted me to make for her AG Truly Me doll. The pattern needed no adjustments to fit perfectly. I wanted a dusty blue color to get a Frozen II sort of look. The best fabric I could find was a crepe. I had wanted to do a velveteen. I think this worked well though. I changed the bottom of the sleeve pattern slightly to get the pointed hem and created my own belt from a scrap of taffeta that I embroidered with silver thread for a snowflake look. I had a piece of somewhat sheer vintage silver knit I used for the cape and lined it with the crepe. I did the one piece collar from a fleece fabric. It would have been helpful if the pattern had some markings for matching it up with the body of the gown. I am a very experienced seamstress but zippers have never been my best thing. This pattern leant itself perfectly to using an invisible zipper as a closure. After watching the videos in the Sewing with Cinnamon Zipper tutorial I felt confident to tackle my first try at using one. I think this is going to become a go to closure method for me.

Frost Queen 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

So very happy that I purchased the "Frost Queen" pattern, very easy sew and I like having the variations to the bottom of the dress. The first one I made was with crushed stretch velvet and I have in the workings to use this pattern for a wedding gown.
