The Circles Around Jacket will add a touch of retro elegance to any outfit. The lining rolls out into a shawl collar that can be styled low to embrace the shoulders or higher to hug the back of the neck. Bias tape traces a sinuous curve around the collar, the front edges, and the hem. Use contrasting bias tape or make your own from either the main fabric or the lining. With strategic placement of the snap closure, the jacket can even be reversible. Use knit or woven fabrics with a little give, or mix them up. Believe it or not, the pattern for the version with three-quarter-length sleeves has just two pieces – and the sleeveless version has only one! Either version has a choice of two lengths. This jacket pairs well with The Lola and The Off Center Dress.
This pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.

This pattern is super easy, simple to sew, great directions and so many looks from the same pattern.....Just what I was looking for!
I tested this pattern and really loved how versatile the shape of the jacket could be. It could easily be made in cotton or other fabrics so I used a stretch metallic "cosplay fabric" with satin lining and it worked, no problem! It can be dresses up or down and added to many different outfits depending on the fabrics you choose. The jacket is super fast to cut out and the way it comes together is simple and yet makes you think about how the shapes connect and flip in order to sew the lining in. If you are new to sewing this is a good pattern to tackle because it isn't hard to do and yet it will teach you a lot about making a lined garment in just a few steps!
This pattern is a quick sew and offers many looks with the sleeve and collar options. You could easily make it casual or glamorous.
