Elizabeth 18" Doll Knitting Pattern

5 reviews   |

Knitted in Waffle Stitch, ‘Elizabeth’ is a smart, front-buttoning jacket which looks great with either pants or skirts. This raglan sleeved jacket is knitted from the bottom up and features a wide-spaced rib on the pretty fold-over collar, at the waist and on the sleeve cuff; while the front button borders are done in seed stitch. This relatively easy pattern, which looks super in any color, is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.

The pattern itself was easy. And I liked the moss stitch band. But the trying to add the sleeves half way. All those stitches being condensed into a small whole , I found it very difficult, at that point I gave up and pulled it apart and reknitted it separately. I would call myself an intermediate knitter. And I have knitted a few other Dan el Designs beautifully, but not this one

Cute Little Sweater with a Nice Pattern

The pattern for this sweater is very straight forward and easy to follow. You do have to pay attention to the pattern so it doesn't get off track but it is fairly simple to do. The pattern results in a nice texture to the finished sweater. I really like how the raglan sleeves are knitted into the sweater. The sweater comes out so cute and I want to make more versions of the sweater.

      I did it!

This pattern is so cute and knits up perfectly with this caveat: when she suggests you use double pointed needles when joining the sleeves to the body, do it! I think you'll need at least six, one for each sleeve, one for each front, one for the back, and one to knit with. I did used a shorter pair of regular needles when I made mine, but wished I'd gotten out another set of double points. Trust me on this! The sweater turned out a perfect fit and her instructions are well done. I plan to make it again.

Elizabeth Sweater - A Great Pattern

I tested this pattern and found the instructions to be well written. It was an easy pattern to follow and if printed out, you can mark off each row when done. I enjoyed how the pattern is done from the bottom up and the sleeves are added to make a raglan sleeve. The proportions on this sweater are perfect and the overall finished look is one I love. I will be making this sweater again.
