Such a fun, detailed pattern! While it’s definitely not a beginner pattern, taking your time and being careful to follow the well-written instructions will result in a very stylish skirt for your doll. Fabric selection is important for this skirt … while denim seems a logical choice, it needs to be very lightweight, like an upcycled chambray shirt, to accommodate all those pleats and pockets. I also think a solid color fabric is a better choice to show off all the details … I tried a muted print, and think some of the details disappear!
I was a tester for this pattern. There are lot of little details on this skirt which make it unique. The photo instructions are very detailed and well written, and the designer has included useful tips. I paired it with a crop top and cowboy boots to give it a western style, but it could also be preppy or a little more dressy depending on your choice of a top and accessories. I can also see it in khaki paired with a polo shirt as a cute school uniform.
