In the late 1960s – early 1970s, Hip-Hugger Bell-Bottom pants were the height of fashion. No fabric or color was taboo – jeans, striped linen, cotton with brightly-colored flower motifs, and even polyester pantsuits were cut as bell-bottoms.

The pattern has pictures for each step. I understand the workings of the pattern's side closure and optional belt loops much better now that I've sewn it a few times. Jeans were a major part of my wardrobe back in the late 70's and they remain a must have for modern day collections.
This pattern really took me back to the 70's when hip hugger pants were all the rage! I enjoyed sewing this pattern and really like the way they turned out! The attachment of the belt loops was really unique and turned out great! You can opt out of making the belt loops. The length of the hip huggers were perfect on my 18" AG doll. I'm sure my grand daughter will enjoy putting these on her New Generation doll. The closure is velcro on the side. I added trim to the bottom of the pants. The outfit I sewed together is repurposed from a top given to me by my family members. They get a kick out of seeing their cast offs turned into a Brand New (!) outfit. I used two patterns for this matching top and pants. Both were from Flossie Potter Patterns: Hi-Hugger Bell Bottoms and Woodstock Peasant Top. The top came together quickly and I love the drape of the sleeves with the v-neck. The pattern instructions had wonderful pics and some helpful hints along the way! I will definitely try more of her patterns!
Love this pattern. Perfect fit. Just a little confusing knowing which way the waist band goes on. Knowing which way was up would make knowing the left and right side of the waist band easier to determine. I paired it with the crop top from Bohemian Breeze pattern and love the look!
