Special note from the designer: On September 13th, 1997, 20 years ago, a US Air Force C-141 Starlifter had a mid-air collision off the coast of West Africa. They had delivered UN humanitarian supplies and Army personnel to Windhoek Namibia and were returning to Ascension Island when the collision occurred. There were 9 US service members on that flight at the time and there were no survivors. One of those men was my brother-in-law Robert Evans. This little flight suit is meant as a tribute to those who lost their lives that day and to all the men and women who have served and are serving this great country of ours. Thank you for your service.
Note: Example images of boys in tan jumpsuits were created using this pattern but the backpacks were custom for the photoshoot.

I absolutely love this pattern!! I made the first one for my friend's daughter and now I have orders for 2 more from one of her friends. I live in a city that train the pilots at the airbase. So this pattern will be used often I am sure. Thank you Pixie Faire and the designer for this pattern. Anyone wanting to give it a try, don't hesitate to get it. Its not complicated at all and well worth your time and investment for it.
I only used the basic pattern. I altered it to open in the back and didn’t use the collar. I wanted to make a Bee Keeper outfit. This pattern worked great. I’m hoping to make the flight suit soom
This pattern requires patience, but it was worth the effort. I made it three times and do have some suggestions. The pattern for the two upper pockets needs to be a bit smaller. I had to shorten the pocket by 1/4" to make it fit and leave room for the belt that is placed beneath it. It also must be kept out of the sleeve seam. I used real working zippers in 4 of the pockets, but used very thin, fusible interfacing to make the openings. By sewing the interfacing right side to right side of fabric, sewing with small stitches around the box, cutting the box open as the pattern shows, then pushing the interfacing to the wrong side and very carefully pressing the interfacing to the wrong side, I created a nice rectangular box for the zipper. The pattern has helpful hints for getting the zippers in easily. I did lengthen the back by 1/4" and added about 3/8" around the waist to fit the AMD Julie. In addition I used several of the Space Badges in set #2 and designed some name badges in my home software.
