First time making this little dress, and it’s just cute as can be! I love the inverted pleat in the front, and a zipper on the back makes for a stylish closure. I actually was impressed with the invisible zipper instructions in this pattern - some patterns seem to gloss over how to put the zipper in, but these instructions were well thought out. I found the fit on this dress to be excellent … plenty roomy without being baggy. I need to make this one again … I like the idea of a dressier version in dupioni silk!
This little dress was easy to run up. I made mine for a customer from Star wars fabric in black with the contrasting collar in white. She also requested sleeves. The instructions were easy to follow including the setting in of the sleeves. So easy. The back zip I fitted using my own method as I didn't have an invisible zip to be able to follow the instructions. The collar fitted first go, which was nice as sometimes I find this my problem spot. I had a little too much gap at the top of the zip, so I finished with a button and loop to close the neckline smoothly. Instructions were well written, pictures were appropriate and were also instructive. I liked that you can have several mix and match options, eg. with or without sleeves or collar and faux belt. You could also 'colour block' the panels as well.
I hope you will make the same pattern for Wellie Wisher Doll. I love this pattern and the era.
Great pattern. I added onto the hem length after reading the reviews and am glad I did. Other than that I am very happy with how this turned out. Have made a couple of adjustments for the next time. Great instructions.
It was really easy and came together well. A little confused with the armhole construction. So I went my own way with that. I wii make the sleeve version soon. It’s a nice pattern
