My two year old was in love with the outfit at first sight! She has been carrying her mermaid doll all day! I made few modifications to the design. Mainly I used fold-over elastic for the waist and back and shoulder straps. That made it easier for my daughter to take it off and put it back on. Since I only had one shimmering fabric (Baby Blue Mystique spandex), I decided to use SISER Holographic HTV over cotton. In retrospect, I don’t recommend using this particular HTV, it made a very stiff fabric and extremely difficult to sew the fin. I will look for other shimmering fabrics for my next iteration. All in all, I was happy with the pattern. The directions were easy to follow and was easy to modify if needed.
I had a lot of fun making these outfits, and I look forward to making more in the near future!
The pattern was easy to follow a dvery cute once sewn. I would recommend to friends. I think that my grandkids would be able to sew.
Loved the pattern, but found the top to be a problem. I did make it, and solved the problem, but think there is a better way to make the top. Made this outfit for my Great Granddaughter, and she loves it.
