Your 18-inch doll would look gorgeous in this beautiful early Victorian Era Style Dress and Overdress which, by using different fabric, can be made into a simple day dress, a pretty garden party dress or a stunning ball gown.
Although not historically accurate, the Dress and Overdress are based on fashions from the 1840’s to 1850’s and using a bit of artistic license, the additions and changes which have been made, are in keeping with that period.
The ‘Kathy’ Dress has a lined Bodice with a Scoop Neck and elbow-length puffed sleeves which are edged with gathered flowing lace, ribbon trim and delicate bows.
The full gathered and layered Skirt has contrasting ruffles which edge the ribbon trimmed layers. The Dress closes at Center Back with Hook & Loop Tape.
The fully lined lace Overdress has a Sleeveless horseshoe-necked Bodice which closes with two small snaps attached to the Center Front's overlapping Tab which is trimmed with a small ribbon bow.
The full, gathered circular Skirt has a curved front hem edge which is open at Center Front allowing the Dress Skirt to peek through.
This Intermediate PDF sewing pattern from Little Miss Muffett is designed to fit popular 18-inch soft-bodied dolls such as those shown in the photos.
