Leesburg is an old historic town that sits along the Potomac River in northern Virginia. Settlement began there in the early 1700s. The town was formed in 1758 and named after Thomas Lee, born and raised in Virginia. Due to its location, Leesburg played a role in many wars including the War of 1812, serving as a temporary haven for the US Government.
