You can create a beautiful historical dress for your doll with the 1790s Open Pelisse and Regency Dress Pattern by Thimbles and Acorns! This PDF pattern will fit most 18-inch dolls such as American Girl®.
Around the turn of the century, Romantic and Grecian dress styles that were lighter and simpler than those of past periods became fashionable. Hair styles gentled, stays and petticoats were minimalized, and gowns in plain, subdued colors featured a high waistline just below the bust.
This pattern features a 1790s style Pelisse with a front belt closure that sits just below the breast, a sailor collar, and a double box pleat in the back. The 3/4 inch sleeves have tucks at the inside elbow, lending a graceful curve to the sleeve.

After purchasing patterns several times from Pixie Fairy I think I can say that you will never be disappointed in your purchase. Comprehensive instructions and perfect fit is always the result. I so enjoy the patterns I have from this site!
Such a satisfying feeling when a pattern and a few hours work turns into something to treasure. I love the effect of the overlay fabric over the attached petticoat. Very pretty bodice with gathered front overlay and pretty sleeves. I added a train to the skirt for a wow. One tiny error on my pattern - back skirt piece says cut one on fold, but of course it’s meant to be cut two pieces.
We are working to update this pattern! Thanks for the heads up!
I loved this pattern. Easy to follow and really pretty finished.
