Love This Pattern!!!

This was my first doll dress I ever made. The pattern is so easy to follow. I love to mix and match ribbons, lace and ruffles. I can't stop making them, I have made so many. I plain to sew many more in the future.

I really like the dress!

The dress was easy to make except for the sleeves. The ruffle was difficult to figure out on the neck, and I just couldn't do it for the sleeves. Even so, it's a very pretty dress! I'd make the back of the dress slightly bigger next time because I have rather wide, thick Velcro but otherwise it is Perfect! The corset was also very nice. I thought it was easier than the dress. It's a beautiful pattern and I like it a lot.

Beatutiful Colonial 18" doll dress

I just made two of these dresses and they are beautiful. I chose a small print to make the dress only, and it looks fine without the corset. Looks very authentic. Pattern and instructions were overall very good. The four suggestions I would make when using it are: 1) on skirt and ruffles sew two rows of gathering stitch rather than one. 2) on ruffles sew the gather stitches in place(but don't yet gather) before hemming the ruffle. 3) when sewing gathering stitches remember to keep the beginning threads from getting caught up in the stitches. 4) do not trim the width of the Velcro as stated in step 4. It shows full width in the photo and you need it to sew it in place.
