With two versions, this crocheted sandal pattern is infinitely customizable. With just a few stitches, you can make so many cute sandals that your doll’s summer wardrobe will be the envy of the neighborhood. Version 1 has a crocheted circle that fills the space between an ankle strap and a toe strap. Version 2 uses a jewelry connector between the ankle and toe straps. Once you make the first pair, you will be addicted to this simple pattern!
This PDF crochet pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.
Recommended Fabrics: Cotton crochet thread
Supplies Needed:
- Size 10 crochet thread
- Size 8 (1.5mm) steel crochet hook
- Stitch markers or safety pins
- Sharp large eye needle
- Scrap of fabric for insole lining (optional)
- 4-inch by 4-inch piece of 2-mm craft foam sheet OR 2 foam Pixie Pack soles for insoles
- 4-inch by 4-inch piece of 1/8 to 3/32-inch thick cork sheet OR craft foam OR 2 Pixie Pack soles for soles
- Tacky glue (Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue is good)
- Clips or clothespins
- Emery board or sandpaper
- Two small buttons
- Two jewelry connectors about ½ inch long (for Version 2 only)
