This PDF pattern will help you crochet a beautiful pair of slip-on shoes for your 18" doll. In this pattern, the top of the shoe is crocheted as a single piece. It starts with a triangular “Cathedral Window” motif for the top of the shoe, then the sides of the shoe are added. It is then sewn to a prepared insole, and glued to the outer sole.
Skill Level: Intermediate; The skill level has been rated intermediate because, while the crochet stitches and shapes are simple, thread can be a little tricky to crochet if you are not experienced with it.

So cleverly designed and the shoes are adorable and fit well. All the steps took some time but they made for a very nice finished product.
I enjoyed crocheting these shoes! The pattern is well-written. Innovative idea for using ponytail elastic at the top of the shoe so that the shoe will stay on. I used the foam and chipboard soles from Pixie Faire. Did not use cork soles - I glued the chipboard to the bottom of the shoe, instead. Because the foam sole is white, I used a felt-tipped pen that is the same color as my crochet cotton to color around the edge of the foam so that the white wouldn't show.
I love the shoes, and found them easy to make. I'd love it if the designers had said how they would use adhesive-backed foam for the project.
Love this pattern and the use of the elastic. Great idea to keep the shoes on the feet and ankle. Found my "ouchless" elastics in Wal-Mart just like in the photo. Have not worked the pattern as yet. Instructions for the crochet shoe top are well written. Need to create a crochet sole for this little gem.
