The Liberty Jane® Boomerit Falls Jacket is straight out of the pages of the latest Outback Libby book: Mystery on Lightning Ridge! Libby may have mooved to the middle of nowhere, but that doesn't mean she can't bring her fashion sense with her to the Outback!
Mix a touch of femininity with a bit of military inspiration and you get this beautifully designed jacket! The design features princess seams sewn with rough edges, double topstitching throughout, front pockets and a tiered back peplum frayed for that perfectly worn in look. It is accented with lace up cuffs, decorative or functional front buttons, and an overall worn in finish. The jacket on the cover image is made with a soft brushed cotton and is fully lined with a brightly colored floral. Perfect for a day in the outback!
The pattern is designed to fit an 18 inch doll such as American Girl®.
Suggested jacket fabrics: Woven fabrics like cotton, twill, corduroy, lightweight denim, or linen.
Suggested lining fabrics: Lightweight woven cotton or poly blend lining fabric.
This pattern is designed to fit a modern American Girl Doll with the measurements shown on the chart provided. If you have a similar sized 18 inch doll, we recommend checking the measurements of that doll and making any necessary adjustments (like adding a bit of ease to the sleeves or center back if your doll measures larger).

Just now making the jacket. So far it is looking pretty good! I do love all the seams and rough edges. I’m currently looking for a dress to go under the jacket and have chosen the 1930’s Ruffled Play Dress. I’m making two sets of these patterns for my two granddaughters. They love their dolls and the clothes I’ve been making. I guess next I’ll have to make shoes to go with the ensemble. The patterns have been just super to make and I’m enjoying them. Lots of ideas flow from each pattern I get from Pixiefaire. I’ve been making doll clothes for ever, started with my little Betsy Wetsy up thru all the Cabbage Patch dolls and now the 18” dolls. The designs you come up with are so special. Thanks Barb
The end results are beautiful and the instructions clear. The top stitching close to the raw/frayed edges took extra patience, but it was worth it. Would definitely recommend this pattern to others.
Most of the patterns that I have had the opportunity to make I have been satisfied with. However, I have one exception and that is the Ginza Girl Coat. It says it is for an 18 inch doll and it no way was the proper size--maybe a 16 inch doll. I was a little upset after putting all that time into the making of the pattern. I redid it again, after enlarging the pattern which was not a profession job of enlarging but it did work.
My jacket turned out a little tight because a used a little heavier fabric than recommended but I still love it . Clear directions and great pattren.
I love this jacket! It is so cute and goes well with any everything whether its a dress or jeans it is just right.
