I loved this course. It gave alot of interesting techniques and suggestions that I would not have thought of. I really like that I can go back if I need to and review and I also like the print out to follow along. I made notes and plan to get the book you suggested on Fabrics. That will help in all my sewing. Needle size and linings , hems etc. It is all covered in this one course. Wonderfully!
This was a very interesting and knowledgable video; taking into consideration the size, one sews are for doll clothing. Easy to follow and understand. I haven't as yet, sewed the dress for my WW, but it is all layed out on my sewing room table! I am pleased with this SWC course and membership. Never to old too learn. Thankyou Pixie Faire.
I learned a lot of tips from these videos, and learned about some cool tools, such as the microtech sharp needles (I promptly bought some), and backing slippery fabric with freezer paper to help with the cut-out. The only reason for four stars instead of five, is that the information zipped along pretty quickly and seemed rushed. I bought this when it was on special and found it to be a really good value.
No problems accessing, downloading, or viewing the videos. Information is just what I need, well presented and thorough. Wish I would have known the techniques that would have been so helpful when my daughter needed prom dresses! Now I can add specialty fabrics to my fabric stash without fear or hesitation. Many thanks!
I learned how to sew over 50 years ago and my thoughts in checking out this course were that you can always learn something new. As a quilter since 1991, my fabric stash consisted of primarily cotton fabric, which I still use in my current doll clothes business ("Jane's Creative Sewing"), but I find that I have left my comfort zone and have been become comfortable using more knit and specialty fabrics as well. It is always enlightening to see what others are doing and discovering new ideas. This course meets my expectations. No matter how long you've been sewing, you can always learn something new. (By the way, I ordered & received Dana Willard's book, "Fabrics A to Z" - certainly a nice resource for fabric shopping & new ideas,)
