Genoa Jumper 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

8 reviews   |

A modern button front jumper with 1960’s flair - The Liberty Jane® Genoa Jumper, designed to fit 18 inch dolls such as American Girl® and Tonner My Imagination, includes design details such as: A fully lined dress with all seams enclosed, Deep V front, Front Button Opening*, and Optional pleated patch pockets. The jumper is designed to be worn over a variety of tops. In the example images we’ve paired the jumper with a mock turtleneck and 3/4 length sleeve t-shirt from the LJ T-Shirt Variations Pattern, a grey sweater made from the LJ Cropped Sweater pattern, and tights made using the LJ Leggings pattern

The finished length of the dress is mid-upper thigh, which looks great worn over tights or leggings.  For a more modest look you can easily modify the length of the dress by simply adding 1-2 inches to the length of the front and back pieces.

*(If desired, snaps or hook and loop tape can be used under non-functional buttons.)

Suggested fabrics include: Wool, wool blends, boucle, suiting fabrics, woven cottons, and lightweight corduroy

Great Jumper!

Such a cute jumper! Looking at the pictures and reading the comments beforehand, I decided to print the pattern at 105% … that fit very well, even over a fairly thick bodysuit. It probably would have fit fine at 100%, as long as you paired it with a thinner t-shirt.

Cute jumper

This is a cute pattern, easy to sew however it is a little shorter than I like so I added 1/2 inch to the length. It is also a little snug in the hips when worn over the 3/4 length sleeve t shirt made from ponte knit. Next time I will add about 1/8 inch to the sides when I cut it out or use a thinner knit for the top. It definitely would need some adjusting for the older plumper dolls.

Genoa Jumper 18inch doll clothes

On my first attempt to make this I was using corduroy with a lining and could not get turned through the shoulder seams, But I did a little adjustment on the pattern and they are working out great now. It is a pretty easy pattern minus the lining.
