If you can crochet a rectangle, then you can make this fashionable shawl collar vest. The vest is worked from left to right around the body. The collar is added by starting at the bottom front, working from side to side, around the neck and back to the bottom front. There is very little sewing in this PDF pattern; only the shoulder seams. It is worked in lightweight yarn to give it a beautiful drape. Baby and sock yarns are ideal. Sock yarn comes in solid colors, but also in many gorgeous self-striping varieties.

Another perfectly written pattern from Pixie Faire. Directions were easy to follow, and the item came out just as described. The only oopsies were due to my yarn splitting, tight crochet stitches, and miscounting. I've made two of the little vests for my granddaughter's doll. Very cute! I'll check Pixie Faire first for patterns I might need. Thank you!
The instructions were pretty simple to follow, and the pictures were really helpful. The vest came out really nicely, although it was fortunate that I hadn't chosen to make the tunic-length vest. Counting the rows was challenging even with the tips. The suggestions I have are to include the amount of yarn needed (number of ounces, for example), especially for the tunic-length vest, and to include a link to either a schematic drawing or a video of how to do a single crochet in the back loop only.
very good. easy and looks adorable. Thank you/
I just wanted to say thank you! I have only crocheted one thing (twenty years ago). I picked up this pattern on a Freebie Friday and decided to give it a go! The first one I had to take apart, but once I got my tension consistent, I was able to easily (and evenly) crochet the body. The pattern is perfectly rated, for advanced beginners. It is a beautiful pattern!
I had the honour of crocheting Sweet Pea Fashions' vest before the pattern release. It's well written, easy to follow and master. With different length options and fun yarns available no two will be alike. Dress it up with a belt or shawl pin, or leave it open to show off your tee. Another fine pattern from Sweet Pea Fashions.
