Brave the winter in this Laura Ingalls Wilder inspired Victorian Era coat and hood. The fully lined coat has a flared back that gives it an elegant drape and plenty of room for full skirts and the trim tailored front buttons down the front from the neckline to the lower front cut-away. The turned down edges of the two patch pockets are fastened with matching buttons. The front opening, hemline, and sleeves can be finished with decorative embroidery or trim and for added interest, the sleeve cuffs, pocket linings, and collar can be made in a complementary fabric. The fully lined hood is made separately from the coat and is tied on with an attached scarf. It can be finished with decorative machine embroidery and tassels.

I've made this for AG, and now AGAT scales. Fit is wonderful, slim in the bodice and a great flare to the skirt. I used a Pendleton wool for this, and trimmed it with strips of wool plaid, cut on the diagonal. I used the same plaid for the lining of the hood / scarf design. Perfect addition to a Little House wardrobe.
A very stylish coat! This coat fits the doll well even with bulky dresses on underneath (which she should be wearing in the 1880's). The front has a unique cut away at the center front. The back has button details to highlight the seaming. The hood is a unique combination of a hood and a scarf. It is fun to personalize it with tasseles and charms. Although the designer has this as part of her "Little House" series, this coat can be used outside if the "Little House" world and be used with any 1880's outfit,
