Halter Ego 18" Doll Clothes

6 reviews   |

The halter-neck style in women's wear surprisingly was popular back in the 1920s.  But it really took off in the 1970s, when this fashion feature was seen on everything from bathing suits to evening wear.   Even today, it's still a favorite at the Academy Awards®!

I set out to create a cute little Ruffled halter-neck doll dress pattern, but when it was done, I loved the style so much that I couldn't stop.  Soon it was followed by a slinky, sparkly stretch velvet Maxi halter dress.  And yet, there had to be more.   When I spotted a perfectly-proportioned "mod" poly-stretch fabric in black and white, I just knew it had to be a Mini halter dress.

So here is the Flossie Potter "Halter Ego" doll dress pattern, a play on words that perfectly describes this one basic concept with three different styles.  This pattern was designed to fit American Girl® dolls and has a "Check the Fit" section which shows you how to make adjustments for the variations in these dolls' waistline measurements.

This PDF sewing pattern contains 16 pages of step-by-step instructions with full-color photographs, 6 pages of summary instructions (to save on printer ink!), and 6 pages of pattern pieces to show you how to create your own special halter dress!
