Sweet little dress!

I edged the collar with bias (after trimming away the seam allowance) for a little extra color, since I made it in white. Three suggestions: mark the center back as such instead of having it look as if it's a stitching line. (This threw me off until I caught on.) Mark the ruffle pieces with dots to line up with center front and side seams to help with distributing the gathers evenly. And indicate that the very curved side seams of the bodice and lining need to snipped several times to make them lie flat when turned right side out. I love the overall end result, even though this was a very time-consuming pattern!

Ruffled Play Dress

When this pattern was offered as a Freebie last summer my granddaughters were visiting us. They immediately chimed in that they would like this dress for their dolls. I found the instructions easy to follow and the dress came together very nicely. I chose to make my own bias trim from bias strips. I could have made them a bit wider than 1" as I discovered they would apply better if they were slightly wider. The dress came together well regardless and I am happy with it. Two more to sew in different fabrics for the other two granddaughters.

Ruffled play dress

I was very happy to get this pattern because it's so versatile. Colour combinations and trims make each one look almost like a new style. Easy to make and relatively quick as well. Even though I'm not that fond of dropped waistlines, this one adds a nice look without appearing old fashioned. Thanks so much for sharing this pattern!
